Also: “If it ain’t broke, why fix it?” Arcs are designed to enable leverage within the musicians’ hands. (Picks depend on a lot of pressure within the hand to be secured against slipping and dropping. Most good players have adapted to securing the dainty things, and ignore hand pressure like a badge of honor, all while concentrating on the pick slipping out of position. The larger, arched design enables more control with more freedom. Arcs rock.

Why would I want to use these when I have a favorite pick?

Picks have had more time in existence, they’re familiar. You may not want to even try using arcs. It’s okay. For perspective, arcs can be less stressful to hands, wrists, forearms; offer different tone-creating potential.

Why the names like Hummy, Dolphins, Manatees?

The experience is fun. Some companies use numbers, we think the names make the arcs more approachable and likely to set a tone for fun. Hummingbirds are amazing, and the Hummy model kind of looks like the shape. So why not. We are huge fans of the amazing creatures around us. Arcs honor our wonderful world.

What is Poly-pro material of the Joy Pack?

Poly-pro is colorful, softer and flexier, than the harder, slicker plastics/composites of a lot of traditional picks… Our poly pro arcs are made in USA from food-grade polypropylene (also primarily sourced from USA) The testing we had done for many months always led us to really enjoying the feel of this material.
